Anyone have the Kiddicare Shuffle car seat? Help needed.

My 4 month old baby hates his baby car seat - maybe it's too reclined, or cos he can't see anything out of the window, I don't know but he screams blue murder in the car, so we bought a birth to four seat and went for the Kiddicare Shuffle because it was cheap
We have put it in the car and it is on full recline, rear facing obviously, but we have a Fabia and our seats are puffy at the edge, not flat, so the seat is tilted forwards a bit because of this slope.
It's safely installed but my baby is so upright when he falls asleep his head flops forward which is not good, and as it's fully reclined there is nothing we can do. Apart from this he loves the seat and doesn't cry in it.
I wondered if anyone else had this problem and if so, whether there is a way round it or if we have to go back to the other seat and have him scream

Didn't have that car seat but my ds1 hated being rear facing too. Never used to like sitting in shopping trolleys either for same reason. Always went forward facing in pushchair. No solutions I'm afraid . He just went into forward facing when he was big enough."I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0

Was it actually fitted for your car in store? I would take it back and get it checked as a matter of urgency as this doesn't sound as if it is properly fitted. Car seats aren't universal to all makes and models of cars.0

Yes I agree this doesn't sound like its fitted well or suited to the car if it only gives those positions. In the case of a crash your child would be seriously hurt if not killed with a poor fitted seat.
I think you need to check which seats are recommended for vehicle rather than just go for the cheapest one.0 -
I think I understand what you mean about the car's seats. The seats in our car are a little like that and the bit where an adult's knees would go is quite a lot higher than where the seat meets the back, under your bum. This means a fully reclined child seat isn't as reclined as it would be in a car with flatter seats. It *can* be acceptable to place a rolled/folded towel (something fairly firm) underneath a seat to improve the recline of the seat (or really, you're flattening out the car's seat) as you can see here - http://www.carseatsite.com/reclineangle.htm - but you would need to talk to an expert and/or the manufacturer to check this first. Don't just do it without proper advice. Mothercare, Halfords etc are unlikely to know enough to advise. Perhaps check for an independent shop near you who may be willing to check out a Kiddicare seat. Even if you have to pay for the check, it's worth it. Car seats are not the place to scrimp.0

For a seat that'l go the distance if it will fit in the car I'd recommend the Joie Stages. It will rear face until 4 and go as a high back booster until around 11/12 years of age. I think it's around £130. I would definitely get one fitted. In car safety are fab and are in Milton keynes, Essex and Belfast. Not sure if you're near any of them? Securatot are also brilliant.

Thank you all for your comments. I know it looks like we just bought the cheapest seat but it was half price so it's normally £80, and we have all the seats from DD so we want to use those so didn;t want to spend lots of money.
If he liked the baby seat then we would use that as it is obviously safest.
We have a Maxi Cos Axiss for the next stage, and DD is in a Recaro high back booster so we don;t scrimp on important things like car seats.
I have looked into the pool noodle fix and it seems it is a safe way of resolving the issue of the seat base not being horizontal so we are going to do that.
We bought the seat online so this is why we are having trouble, and as soon as I realised there was an issue I haven;t used the car, and have been trying to work out what to do, so I hope no-one thinks me negligent. It took us three years and a lot of losses (see sig) to have this baby and we would never risk his life. He is too precious.
Thanks again for all the help and comments, much appreciated
