Claim back for cover not received

A month or so ago we had a leak from our upstairs toilet running through the celling down stairs. My wife phoned our insurance company and explained everything and was told that we would have to find a local plumber and pay for it then claim the cost back. Which we did and luckily got it done cheaper than the excess so didn’t need to claim.
Now our insurance came up for renewal this month, looking on the site of the company I was insured with I noticed they did Home Emergency Cover. So I phone them up and ask if I had this cover. I was told I did. I asked what it included and was told that they would find a local tradesman and get it all sorted. Which was not offered when my wife was phone.
Now has I had paid for this cover and was not offered it can I claim the amount back I was charged for the cover?

Why didn't your wife claim under the home emergency cover? This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0 -
we didn't now we had it, it was not shown on the policy and it was only when I phoned this week about the renewal and I asked about it that I found we had taken it out last year.
Normally if it's not shown on the policy you don't have it.This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0 -

Write to your insurance company and complain. If they don't provide a satisfactory response, escalate to the FSO.0
