I bought a North Face bodywarmer from the John Lewis website last Thursday during a price match promotion. The cost was originally £130 but with 20% it came to £104 - a lot of money but a bargain or so I thought. I collected it and noticed the original price tag was only £99. I e-mailed and complained that I felt I had been misled on the original price and asked for 20% off the £99 price as this was the "real" price on the tag. John Lewis refused and offered me a £5 refund. I emailed again, same response. I went on Twitter and was fobbed off today with "price match" and "sorry for the confusion". I replied that it was funny how the price had been changed to £99 on their website after I had emailed them. Have also just notice that there is now a price match offer and the £99 includes the price match reduction. I feel very let down by John Lewis as I feel they have misled me and would like some advice on what to do next. Apart from sending the bodywarmer back and asking for a refund. Thanks

Good old John Lewis. !!! I made a complaint some time ago when they cxled a bday present and they could not be bothered. I would take it back and keep the money until the sales.

The price tag doesn't mean anything as you didn't buy in store* - you saw it advertised for £104 and that was what you chose to pay. You know your options - return it and ask for a refund and/ or repurchase it at £99.

* Even then it is not generally enforceable.

Is it the nuptse? If so, North Face are selling it at £130, perhaps the label is old or incorrect?
