403 Error on a Forum?

Hi, I really need to get onto a forum at the moment but have been unable to due to seeing a white page with the following message on when I try and go onto the site:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I have got an account there and have messaged their support who says it's my computer, but I've tried it on my two laptops and it's the same. I have been on the site previously last month so don't understand why I can't get on it now at all.

If anyone knows what to do to help me get onto the forum I'd be very grateful. Thank you.

It may be that the page you are accessing requires you to be logged in. If you try to browse to the homepage of the site, are you then able to log in and visit the page giving the 403 error?

Its also possible that you need to do something first, say post in a Hello Section, or complete a profile, before you can post elsewhere on the forum.

Your IP address may be blocked. (I do this to forum spammers.)
If your IP address is dynamically assigned then switching your router off for a few minutes should fix the problem.

Which browser are you using? Try opening it in private browsing mode (Ctrl + Shift + N in Chrome). This essentially wipes your browser clean (but only for that session) so there are no cookies (data remembered by the website) which may be causing this issue.

see other similar threads;
there's been a plethora of internet problems over the last few days, my hunch is they are connected with BT's DNS service. One guy said he changed to use Google's DNS servers and everything was then OK.
