HSBC told me when I asked why I can't see transactions at weekends:
    Dear Adzha

    General Enquiry

Thank you for your e message recieved 07 October 2007.

Please be advised that it is not possible to view the pending transactions on Internet Banking.

I trust this clarifies the matter.

    Kind regards

I'm new to Quidco - I've registered and had a look through. I've also read some of the pages here .... but not all 38.

I understand it moreorless, just one thing that is confusing me, all this talk of tracking and validation. I've read the explanation on Quidco but still don't understand, can someone help please.

    Thanks

    Ms C xx

    hi ms c

i'm sure someone more clued up abpout quidco will be along soon to explain better than me.

tracking i believe relates to quidco's ability to record (or track) your interaction with any indicated offer or merchant. QUIDCO tracks the visits you make via the cokies held on your computer?

validation relates to some behind the scenes jiggery pokery that relates to confirming or validating that you have actually done what is required to receive payment _ for example spent money with a merchant or provided a valid e mail address for a sign up

If you feel something has not gone as it should then you can send in a 'ticket' to ask them to look into the situation manually.

the process is much smoother when you see it in action : although saying that i am still waiting over £100 to track as of last week???

    hTH

    regards

  • Basically, when you purchase via Quidco, and say buy a £10 CD from HMV, HMV wants proof that it was Quidco who 'introduced' you to HMV and gave you the incentive to spend money with HMV. That is what the cookie does - it tracks your click from Quidco to the retailer.

This is why it is important to clear your cookies each time you plan to purchase something through the Quidco 'portal'. Because you must have a fresh slate and the transaction is 'seen' by HMV via the new cookie.

The transaction is then 'validated' as long as you complete it on line, normally takes a few hours or a few days to show up depending on the retailer. You can see on the page about the retailer what their 'speed' is at tracking/paying back etc.

You need to do it a few times to see what I mean - plus always think of the future cashback as a bonus, rather than a definate just in case. I have however made quite a bit on Quidco and can recommend it as long as it's used properly re cookies and following their rules.

    Enjoy!

GalaBingo has netted me £20 from Quidco (£30 cashback - £10 stake), plus £90 winnings! And I still have £3 of the original £10 left! :D
    I have no signature.
  • Well done Steve-o - what a win! I like the statement in your sig - true that it makes no sense as to why water is more expensive than milk... mind you, also that we can justify importing tons of water from abroad, when we have lovely water here - ethical water like 'Life' which donates to charity and reduces carbon footprint... right, rant over!

I'm really annoyed with Quidco, I have 2 tickets in querying declined transactions. Despite both retailers having the SureShop logo and it being well over 30days since I submitted the tickets I have had no response. I think Quidco are well out of line for not repyling, what's the point of the SureShop logo if they don't keep to it?

musey have you raised tickets or an enquirey? i've raised enquireys with declined HMV transactions and they too are sureshop. i think they only send off the problems/info once a month. it took nearly 6 weeks to sort mine out but to be honest i wasnt bothered as the money is just a bonus if i get it :)
oh and it took 4 weeks for quidco to reply but then again what do you really expect for £5 a year lmao
