We were all set to exchange today and move next week.
Our solicitor rang yesterday to say that one of our vendors works off-shore and that his solicitor forgot to get him to sign the paperwork before he went away. He won't be back for two weeks and apparently has no access to a postal service as he works on an oil rig.
Could someone else sign the paperwork on his behalf? Or are we going to have to wait until he gets back? If that's the case, then I can't see hs moving before xmas

He would have needed to appoint a power of attorney in advance, for this to be possible.I am a mortgage broker. Is there any way a signature can be done digitally? I have signed documents by signing a piece of paper, scanning/photographing it and putting it on the digital copy of the document before. Obviously not done this on something as potentially important as this though...
Just a thought, I have no idea whether it would be acceptable.0 -
Thanks kingstreet.
Blawford- this is what he is hoping to do. We're waiting to hear from his solicitor if a digital signature would be acceptable. Apparently his solicitor is not responding to calls/emails from her clients or my solicitor :wall::beer:two steps forward and one step back is still moving forward:dance::dance::dance:0
