Cancelled Train

If you were 30 or more minutes late arriving at the destination shown on your ticket, you are entitled to delay compensation.Laughingbear wrote: »My train ticket was from Euston to Manchester but this train was cancelled and i got on an earlier train that took me to Wigan. Tickets were not checked at any stage of the journey. My final destination was actually somewhere in between Manchester and Wigan so going to Wigan was actually less of a problem than if i'd caught the train to Manchester.
Does anyone think i'm entitled to make a claim for the specified train being cancelled?
If you chose to take an earlier train, and therefore avoided a delay of 30 or more minutes, you are not entitled to delay compensation.
It's not entirely clear from your post, but it sounds like you were not delayed and simply want compensation for being permitted to take an earlier train? :huh:0 -

Morally your not entitled to a claim as you got to your destination early and therefore not delayed. However, the records will show that your orginal train was cancelled causing a delay that you could claim against.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -
Trains to Manchester are usually every 20 minutes (though it's hard to advise as we do not have a date/time), so a cancellation would not trigger any delay compensation, unless there was a further delay.0
