i don't think there are many around now..
Mastercard credit cards are readily available.
    and Visa debit cards aplenty..
but not many current accounts come with a Maestro (Mastercard debit) card nowadays:think:

  • Yorkshire bank, they do one on their basic and currents if you score too low for a debit mastercard.

they also used do a prepaid card with a silly fee. they might still do it.

...which does make me wonder why polford wants one, too:think:
  • Wishes he's back in 2006 and it's boom time. Maybe he's off to habitat to buy candles or Woolworths to buy a Plasma TV :D

Otherwise it could be that germany's main card is maestro (I think)

I think Clydesdale (same group as Yorkshire) only offer Maestro cards with current accounts.

These days Maestro and Debit MasterCard are different things.
  • Maestro is king if you pay for flight tickets and a few things. I have master and visa. Would be handy to not pay a FEE for using visa or mastercard. Would have saved me big bucks already . Never though I would want one but now certain websites charge huge fee's for the cards I do have.

What websites have you found that charge no fee for a Maestro card but do for a Visa Debit card?

Maestro used to be the only card for free uploading Skrill (former Moneybookers) e-wallet, but this seems to have changed recently. All card uploads are chargeable now.
