Totally ripped off -Travelsoon.com

Hi all.
I purchased flights and hotel accommodation through Travelsoon.com yesterday.
Today I asked for the invoice so I could see the breakdown of charges.
The hotel is room only - no breakfast - and the charge is £139.42 for 3 nights.
30 minutes ago I decided to Google the hotel website. The hotel is charging a mere £76.10 for the exact same deal.
I'm furious. I've already spoken to the admin team on the phone to ask how they justify this. I was told that different "suppliers" will charge differently from the hotel rate.
How can Travelsoon.com justify charging me £63.32 more than the hotel would?
I'm feeling ripped off and the company has said they're not going to lower the rate just because I'm not happy.
Any advice or do I just have to suck this up?

its called profit its how businesses stay in business.
do you think if you go to tescos and buy a pint of milk for 49p that tescos have paid 49p themselves for the pint of milk?
the only person at fault here is you for not checking around before paying your money to travelsoon.com, which given that its an online company you coud have easily opened another window in your browser and checked the prices with other suppliers whilst making the booking.
in conclusion.
Suck it up!Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -

As a business they should charge as much as they can get away with charging. It's up to customers to shop around for the best price.0 -
They are proving a service of finding and booking accommodation for people. They charge for that service by adding charges on top. Sometimes travel agents will have preferential rates with certain hotels and you will get a cheaper deal than by booking yourself, sometimes you won't.
Personally I've been booking my own flights and hotels for over twenty years as I've found it simple, more so with the internet, and reliable.0 -
Go onto Trivago and search any city, you'll see a wide range of prices for each hotel. Are the companies with a higher price "ripping you off"? Is the hotel doing so if their direct price is higher? Doubt it, that is just the price that is available to them (or decided by them in the hotel's case) at that point in time. As londonpi says, sometimes you win, sometimes you don't.
Ont of interest, are those prices per room or per person? The hotel's direct price sounds very low per room, though of course depends what/where/when it is.0 -
Welcome to capitalism and the competitive free market economy. Its great when you use it properly. Some research, spend time looking, asking about and get the cheapest price. Others don't.0

More fool you booking with some total random website rather than spend a few minutes more checking the big main sites. Let's just hope the company doesn't go bust0
