How I look to lenders...

Hi All,
I wonder if you could offer me a bit of advice, please?
I'm due to remortgage in December 2015. It's my first time remortgaging and I took my mortgage out Dec 2013. I originally struggled to get the mortgage because of late payments on my file.
Anyway, long story short. I built up a whopping 6k worth of debt this year on house improvements.
But I've finally faced my demons and gone through my debts and sorted a plan to fix it. :money:
By juggling things around, I've managed to pay off:
Argos card: £555.
Creation loan: £825.
Lloyds Credit Card: £1,400.
I'm now about to cancel these cards. (Thinking it would improve my prospects with mortgage lenders). But is this true? I've had the Lloyds Credit Card for about 7 years... Is it time I close it? I wanted to use it for petrol and pay it off in full every month. Is that a better option? (Any advice or tips much appreciated).
My remaining debts are:
£1,500 - Virgin 0% Credit Card (0% till Jan 2016).
£4,000 - Bank of mam (0% heehee).
Thank you in advance all

I'd keep at least one other card apart from the Virgin. The Lloyds one looks the obvious choice.0
