Good vet in Glasgow, recommendations please

Hello everyone,
As the title says, I am looking for recommendations for a good vet.
I had posted on the local board but I hope I can also get some recommendations from here.
I have just taken in 2 little 8 week old kittens, so I'm looking for a great practice with friendly and approachable staff that we can use long term.
We are in the East End of Glasgow.
I did pop into a local practice before getting the kittens, but, despite standing right in front of her, was ignored by the receptionist as she finished her chatty phone call to either family or friends.
This is not the sort of practice I am looking for :-)

Sorry, I did used to live in the East End of Glasgow but had no pets at the time, so can't help.

The local boards might help. Or it might be worth investigating other vets in the area. Stop local dog walkers and ask them.

Probably a bit far for you to go, but when I lived in Milngavie, I used Avalon Vet. They were all genuinely lovely people and I'd recommend them a million times over.

In an emergency one evening, we went to the PDSA clinic in Shamrock Street. I don't recall being overly impressed by them, but that was about ten years ago now, so things may have changed.

When one of my small pets needed a referral, we were sent to somewhere in Cumbernauld. It was awful. They left my beloved animal in her carry case for three days and did nothing. They even rang me to bring food in because it wasn't a cat or dog, so they didn't see the need to stock food for that species. I can't remember their name at all, but they were not far off the M80. Please avoid them.

  • Maybe not handy for you but I use Queens Crescent vetinary clinic. it's 13 Queens Crescent just off st George's cross.
They've got another branch 129 High Street.
They're absolutely brilliant, really helpful, so much so that when I moved out to Paisley I stuck with them. I couldn't recommend them enough. They do payment plans to cover vaccinations, worms and fleas treatments.

My three dogs are all with Sandyhills vet on shettleston road and they are fab...not the cheapest for meds but they are good at the job and have always treated my fur kids well.

One to avoid is the beechwood vets in baillieston, awful.
