How To Scan With A Dell 1600n Printer

About five years back I was given a second hand Dell 1600n lazer printer. It is in pretty good shape and prints well.

I've never used the scanner on it before, never had cause to, but today I want to scan and send a colleague some house drawings but I've no idea how! Can anyone help?

I'm using the Dell 1600n, Windows 7 Ultimate, 4 photocopies of house drawings and I want to email them to my colleague. I can connect my Dell Inspirion directly to the Dell printer via cable.

(Thought: Do two Dell products talk better to each other?)

Once you install the scanner driver, the scanner will be available to most artwork packages that are installed.

If you open paint which is probably standard you should be able to go to file and then hit from scanner or camera and you should be able to scan and save from there
