I had been speaking to Tutorcare Ltd about some courses I was interested in for my staff. On 21st November, they left a message for me to call back which I did and I explained to guy that I didn't have venue as yet and did not want to book anything. He persisted and said he could hold the booking, I said ok that's fine but I will not be making any payments. He agreed and said I will email you the invoice and then said please refer to the t&cs on our website (The call was recorded and sent to me today). On Monday 24th November when I got into work I picked up the email with the invoice attached and read the terms. I immediately contacted him and refused and asked he cancel everything down (By phone and email). A few days later their accounts team contacted me for payment of £420 cancellation fee! I was not informed of this at any point and was not given the opportunity to even read the t&cs! as he invoiced me before I had the chance! Can anyone advise of my legal rights with this? They are threatening court action, but I am more than willing to meet them in the court and they are a con!
