Regular clutter at Christmas

Space is severely limited for me.
I have just put out my Christmas things - I have 2 boxes (one with my table top tree and crib, one with assorted other items) when I take the Christmas things out, I put 'non-Christmas' objects in to the boxes.
For example - I normally have a small vase of artificial flowers and a family photo on the table-by-the-window....this is where I place my tree at Christmas, so I have to put the flowers and photo away for a few weeks.0 -
I do move things from the mantlepiece as I put Christmassy candles and things on there, and I replace coasters in the living room with festive ones There's also a vase of artificial flowers that I will replace with silver twigs. Everything else stays put.0

I pack away all the usual things in the christmas tree box and swap it all over to the Christmas decorations and ornaments.
They then get swapped back in January.Having a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona0 -
I don't have much clutter to move and the Christmas tree sits on top of the cabinet where I put a vase if we have fresh flowers I don't keep the vase out year round...0

My problem with decorating the house is I share it with the rest of my family & they take umbrage when their projects are plonked on their beds so I can "play with tinsel". So I clear windowsills that are not "owned" & arrange decorations there. Some years the chaps join in, others they don't.
Ordinarily I loathe "flickering artificial candles" but they are exaclty what I'll be tucking into the little tin lanterns I got in the sales in January.
I may relocate a few toys - some years ago I was allowed to decorate a beam with assorted stuffed critters with bauble collars (and even got a collar of bells round the youngests stuffed critter - meant we could track him around the hosue easily!) I think I could reprise that idea.
Had I enough small baubles, I'd fill a demijohn, but not enough & the fuss 'cheating' with a card inner...
At work I have two under 12" trees, both of which are currently out & bracketing my monitor. "Decorating" them with the puny dozen little baubles I keep stashed entertained three of my colleagues. Given when I plan to get back after Christmas, I'll probably leave the trees in situ while on leave.0
