Hilton payment

I'm hoping someone can help me as I don't really know which forum to post this in!

On the 20th November a booked a room through the Hilton website and provided my card details booking an advance purchase rate room.
I kept checking my account up until I stayed on the 23rd and no money had been taken, when I checked in they offered me an upgrade and the guy on the desk advised me as Id already paid I don't need to make payment and just pay for the upgrade of £11 which I did with my card.

It's now the 2nd December and hilton still haven't charged me for the room since then I've had my wallet stolen and I've had to cancel my cards which has resulted in the card I provided being cancelled.

What happens now? Will hilton still be able to take payment even though the 16 digit card number, and all details I provided have been cancelled? Should I contact them or wait for them to contact me?

They will be able to do this without contacting you. And they have 6 months from the date of authorisation.

Yes they will still be able to collect the payment even though your card number will be different.

If it worries you, you could always phone the hotel and check when they're taking payment.

As advised, yes they can, the cancelled card number will still connect to your account number. The only way it could not be taken is if you closed the account as well (and of course you would still owe the money, but they would have to chase you for it).
