Hi guys,
I've had a read through the Newbie thread and just had a query in relation to the point in bold.
"Consider waiting for the postal 'Notice to Keeper' in MOST cases, unless it is NCP or Meteor or WING or a small PPC like 'JAS' or 'JD Parking Consultants' or 'UCS parking Ltd' or 'P4Parking aka Nighthawk' who faff about sending debt collector letters and don't even send a NTK. If so, latest advice is to avoid the debt collector rubbish and in the case of the firms listed above, appeal after around 21 days but as the KEEPER, not driver, using the same template below. Start a new thread if unsure about 'your' PPC - we can tell you if they are 'small fry' or you can search the forum for their name and read about other people's recent experiences of appealing their tickets first, to see if they do issue a Notice to Keeper or dive straight into 'debt collector threatograms'."
As the title suggests, the operator is Autosec. Having searched the forums, I cannot decipher if this applies to this company - will I receive an NTK or debt collector letters.
Many thanks!

Just wait and see!
Not sending an NTK, or sending it too late is one of the easiest and best ways for a PPC to screw-up in your favour.
You don't want to make it easy for them by handing over your details for free and/or behaving like a hooked fish to them0 -
If you put Autosec into the heading 'search this forum' - next to 'forum tools' just above the stickies on the right - you find a thread where someone already asked this question and appealed early. They didn't wait for any NTK, they treated this firm as 'small fry' and I agreed with their decision. Autosec are a notorious, nasty, one man band ex-clamping firm.
In the thread (which I will let you find yourself as you need to search for 'Autosec' and read the results), one poster said 'I sent an appeal email {as keeper only} he asked for my address, I sent another one back saying I didn't need to provide it and that he should provide me with a POPLA number and I never heard a peep from him again.'
The only thing I would do differently than that person (and do the search and read it all) is NOT to appeal without a postal address, that's just silly. Of course the email must give the postal address as well otherwise what's the point of challenging the fake PCN early, as keeper?! But only send it around day 22 (NOT SOONER) for good reasons which you can ask about at POPLA stage if you get a code.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Some of these knuckle-scraping ex-clampers are too thick to find their a**e with both hands. Figuring out how to correctly follow a long, detailed procedure ending up with suing someone for £100 will be way beyond someone like Peter Del Grosso (Google him). He must've found it so much easier in the clamping days when he could threaten and intimidate people face-to-face.
Keeping your address from this charmer sounds like a very good idea.Je suis Charlie.0
