JSA for Housing Benefit entitlement

My dad works under 16 hrs and makes more per week than what is JSA entitlement would be there for receives no JSA, does he still require to sign on?

Will he lose his Housing Benefit if he signs off? He does also pay towards his rent and gets help from HB. He is still looking for other work but the pressure from the JC is really getting him down?

by signing on he should be getting his NI stamp paid which will count towards pension.
If he signs off they will notify HB that his JSA claim has been closed and they may suspend his HB until he confirms to them what his situation is (they may assume he has signed off as has a full time job so would suspend the claim to avoid overpayment)

You can still get HB while working.
  • if he gets JSA income based then he gets full HB, if he works then it will be assessed on his earnings
