Tesco @ Outlet, Banbridge - whats the point?

Was in one night last week, it was pretty much deserted with only one guy on the till.

It must be running at a loss.

As said before it was only put there to keep other big retailers out of the area.

I think its just another unit that they're going to lease out. There was talk of another cinema at one point (because Banbridge needs another cinema) not sure if its going ahead.

Knowing Tesco's lillywhite accounting practices, the Banbridge store is probably their global HQ for tax purposes, persuaded no doubt by our local politicans' willingness to get rid of education and health so that we can have Corporation tax setting.

I called in today for the first time. It's certainly big, but does it have anything that any other Tesco in the country doesn't have? No. And it also seemed pretty deserted.

Also seems a little strange that a store of that size doesn't have a Tesco Cafe in it - it has Ground, but you're not likely to get a fry-up there...
