Company car PCN appeal.

I got a window sticker PCN today. I have read the newbies sticky thread and am a little confused about appealing if you have company car. Mine is a company leased car.

"If you have to appeal as driver (e.g. if yours is a company or hire car) then of course remove the wording about 'not naming the driver' and anything about the POFA 2012 which only protects keepers."

Does this mean I have to name myself as the driver and also should I appeal now or wait the NtK.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do not wait for the NtK, unless you know well the lease company and KNOW that they will name you as the driver (and not try to stiff you for an admin charge).

Respond to the windscreen PCN using the template, but tweaking it slightly ...

I am the usual keeper of the vehicle with the registration mark XXnnXXX and have been handed this PCN by the driver. I wish to appeal this PCN ........ etc.

It tells you towards the end of the first post of the Newbies thread that company car drivers should appeal early (as long as the PPC is a BPA or IPC member of course!) to stop any Notice going to the lease co. They often just stupidly pay them then try to charge the driver.

To be CERTAIN that the PPC cannot contact the lease co. then actually say you are the driver. But which PPC is it, we can tell you if it is safe to call yourself the keeper - for example with ANPR Ltd you could call yourself a pumpkin and they'd still send the same rejection letter telling you that N Martin knows all the car parks personally and that a POPLA appeal is doomed!

On the other hand if this is Napier or Combined wotsit, they would likely spot it if you didn't actually say you were the driver, and might still write to the lease co.

So which PPC are you dealing with?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Thankyou for your replies.

The PPC is UK Parking Control LTD
  • What are the consequences of naming myself as the driver, will it make much difference.

Against UKPC it will make no difference and you will win at POPLA! :D
