Care Parking £100 Charge

skoates
Hello everyone.. this is my first post, be gentle!
hopefully someone will be able to help me with this one as its causing quite a bit of distress!
On the 22nd of November, we parked for 03 hours, 9 minutes (17:34 - 20:41 on the Range car park on St Helens. From what I know this is a notorious car park for getting fines so we are usually very careful!
Although we don't dispute we was actually over the allowed parking time (2 hours) we are hoping the parking company will not pursue the claim anymore..
What happened was (without going into too much detail!) we visited the McDonald's on the same retail park and then my heavily pregnant girlfriend had a bit of funny turn so we just ended up sat on a bench why she calmed down, got her breath back and kept down the chunks of McNuggets that would surely be making an exit..
I am going to write to Care Parking anyway and hope we get the result we are hoping for because quite frankly, with a little one on the way and Christmas coming up.. we just absolutely cant afford to pay the fine!
What I really wanted to ask was, if they don't agree to drop the charge - is there any way we can get out of this? it was a Saturday night and the car park was basically empty so I think trying to charge £100 is just ridiculous
Any help would be massively appreciated!
Cheers.

Hi and welcome!
You appear to have missed the stage where you stop before posting and read a few threads at the top of the forum, especially the one called 'PRIVATE PARKING TICKET? NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST!' To go back there, use the FORUM JUMP on the right now, and click GO.
For starters if it's only a poxy 'fake' windscreen 'parking ticket' you do NOT appeal yet, DON'T appeal as driver! If it's a postal ticket you can just use the first appeal template letter as shown in the newbies thread - yes including the points about signage...yes including the point about the Notice not being compliant (believe us, we know). No idea how come we get so many new threads where no-one has read anything at the top of the thread list. We want to help...but please read the info first!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

DO NOT WRITE TO CARE PARKING EXPLAINING EVERYTHING !!!!
That is a parking suicide note waiting to happen. Follow the advice in the NEWBIES thread and win on the technical points.
PPCs DON'T DO MITIGATION.0 -
I can imagine you do get quite a few, so sorry.
are you referring to the template by the "KEEPER"? would I keep all the points in if so? (A-F)
again, thanks for the help.. even if you have repeated it 1000 times0 -

Yep! Easy peasy now you've found the thread. Then at POPLA stage, post #3 of it covers 'How to win at POPLA' and you will!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
