Pivot Table Query

Hi All,

I have a row call "variance" on a pivot table which basically calculates my level of debt from the current month and subtracts this from the previous month to return a value. The level of debt each month should always be going down and I want the variance figure to return a minus symbol. E.g. this months level of debt is £337,000 and last month it was £727,000 equating to a £390,000 reduction. Can I get this returned as a -£390,000? At present £390,000 is being returned.

it may be a format issue on the cell, try changing it so the minus sign is shown (perhaps)

Are you doing the subtraction the right way round?

10 - 7 = 3

7 - 10 = -3
