  • Have you tried sugar soap? I remember as a youngster doing work experience, I was given it to use in a house which had been in a fire and it cleaned up really well :)
  • I haven't started yet but have sugar soap on my list..the stains are really bad so I might need something stronger.
  • Stain blocker for walls, maybe?

    Stain Killer

Prochem Alkleen diluted as recommended in a large pump spray bottle
Spray it directly onto the walls and use sponge mops to clean off with clean water
Nicotine is oil based..Alkleen is alkaline and works a treat
You will need to redecorate once the walls are cleaned but it is a lot quicker and smells better than sugar soap.
    Hope this helps
  • Hi, I really appreciate your post here about stains such as nicotine. I am also looking for tips in cleaning our walls and it is such a problem. I have never tried sugar soap, perhaps, i'll be using that as your advice. Thanks for it!

The old ones and cheapest are the best .

A strong solution of Sodium Bicarbonate or Soda Crystals work wonders. Apply with a cloth and rinse with clean water after a few minutes soaking .

Wear long rubber gloves and avoid drips .
