Had 1 late payment with my credit card in October. After contacting the credit card company they agreed to refund the fee. Applied for a loan and have been declined because of the late payment having registered on my credit rating. Any advice?

Even though the lender removed the late payment fee the fact you was late making the payment is correct.
It might be worth you asking the lender to remove the late payment marker as a gesture of goodwill.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
agree with the above fullyDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
