Even 15 mins at a time would be good, that way you can break it up through the day.

Good idea! Just done the kitchen (except the floor - that's a massive job!), going to do that next then onto the lounge.

If I remember from my Flylady days (before she drove me up the wall talking about drinking water and lacing up shoes) you can do anything for 15 minutes. I might get the kitchen timer on and see what I can get done. Then pass out in a heap in front of the TV!!!

Enjoy cleaning your mum's cooker - rather you than me! Mine is fine - it never gets dirty becase I never cook!:rotfl:

Unfortunately we don't clean ours very often, so it's a massive job. I'm even going to clean out the kitchen cupboards. The key will be whether she notices or not!!

For anyone struggling with the cleaning, how about popping over to the flylady thread in moneysaving old style - we are a supportive group, and it is much better than the original emails - they drove me mad.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Thanks - I'll do that, although I won't do it right now as I can see myself using it as an excuse to sit in front of the computer for another hour! I'll probably see you there soon! I love the concept of Flylady, but the reality drove me absolutely insane, so any improvement has got to be great!

Making sure but steady progress, although I haven't left the kitchen yet! Just taking a well-deserved break, honest...

Thanks - you're quite right, so I've just looked out a bill, and it is the other stuff that's costing £4 a month - caller display, call waiting etc. Can't really do without those, so will have to keep the 14.50. Very well spotted though, thanks for trying!!!

I would ring BT and check on that, cause about 16months ago they started doing it for free, i have both these and don't pay

    hi panda
There are several online sites, where you can market your house for a set fee. I think Lynzpower did her flat that way. There is no rule that says you HAVE to use an estate agent. Plus a website might attract people who are moving to the area, rather than just the local catchment.

I know your current estate agent is pants, but have you asked them for any feedback about the house. It might be fairly simple things, like dim lighting or dull curtains or something that is holding back the sales. Sorry if I sound like the house doctor! One of the things she makes a point about is that having a bed room as a computer room is a real no no as it means people can't visualise it as a bed room. Also if you have your choice of paint on the wall, that is a bit 'individual' then that is fine if you want to live there, but pale colours might make it seem lighter. Then potential buyers, can better visualise them living in your house.

    Hope that vaguely made sense!

I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Thanks - I will check that. Maybe it is because we only have the basic line rental rather than their option 1/2/3 thingy. Will hoke out the bill and ring them later - cheers!

    Thanks Chev.

I might have a look and see what lynzpower had to say about self-marketing. We considered it when we first went on the market, but people round here can be quite old fashioned, and tend just to look in the estate agents window for houses! We're on rightmove and a few others anyway at the moment, just not getting the viewers. We've been keeping an eye on all the other houses in the area and nothing seems to be shifting at all apart from the terraces/semis.

I know everyone thinks their house is perfect, but the feedback that we've had so far (and had to drag it out the agents) has been really positive for the house, a couple of remarks that we're on a busy road (it's not really, just a country town road to the next village) and that the garden was too small and too big - it's fairly average!

We've got 6 bedrooms, all double, over 3 floors. On the original photos the agents have, they're all shown as double rooms, but we since changed one to an office when I went back to work. It is all fairly neutral - there are a couple of coloured walls in the bedrooms, but nothing outrageous.

I'll PM you the link to it on the estate agents website - don't want to put it on here partly because I'm not sure it is allowed, and partly for privacy! Feel free to ignore if you don't want to look! Anyone else interested in giving feedback at all please give me a shout and I'll send you the website. Would appreciate any criticisms as friends/family/agents can only sing praises.

Personally, I hate the house, but I think that's more to do with the money it is costing than anything else! I JUST WANT TO SELL THE EFFING THING!!!

We too have call waiting and caller display and I think we pay £10.50 a month? I asked to go to basic line rental and expected to lose these but we still have them so presume they are free.

Ooh! I put a post up about an offer I saw for 20% off at Habitat, and it has been included in Martin's new weekly email!

    Not worthy, not worthy!!! :blushing:
