If one was asked to put a 'term of years' on the word loyalty, just what sort of number would come to mind?
I have just had a mail shot from the Skipton Building Society, with whom I have been a customer for over 30 years.
The mail shot refers to a special thank you for being a loyal member, in the eyes of the mighty Skipton Building Society that is less than 11 months!

There is little loyalty in todays business practices. Customers are churned with special offers to grab market share and then you hope you keep enough apathetic ones staying to be milked longer term.

I'd define a loyal member/customer as anyone who doesn't jump ship when a better deal comes along. I try my best not to be company's loyal customer.
