Samsung s3 video call

Hi, I just got a new samsung s3.

I can't find any information on charges to use the video call.

Would I be right in thinking .....it would eat up my data, but would be free to use if I connect to my home wi fi?

Any help much appreciated

Video calling uses data, have a look at your tariff for call rates (O2 will charge me 6p per min if I use it).

To use WiFi you need something like Skype, I think a video call in the sense that you mean will use data regardless of WiFi access or not.

I have to say though that I've never tried it, I have no need to see the people I'm talking to, so am not positive that my understanding is correct.

EE charge me for video calls - IIRC at about 35p per minute. I only know because I pressed video call in error once and got charged for a call lasting seconds!

Skype or similar may suit you better if you have a data package

edit - T mobile 15.3ppm to other t-mobiles. 51.1p all others!
