Enormous socks

Not sure this is the right place but I'm trying to find some enormous socks for my dad. His legs and feet are swollen as he has heart failure.


To add to my mission, my dad is 6 foot 4 with size 13, very wide feet!


Does anyone know of any stockists of easy pull on, massive socks?

Cosy Feet looked good (and very warm) but were a bit pricey.


I have ordered some from Ebay called HJ Hall Softtops. They were the only socks I could find in a 13-15 and they don't have any elastic. They were £4.95 so if they fit, I could get him some more.


He's been walking around for months in no socks at all (he's very fond of the Jesus sandal) but working outside at the holly market in wellies and no socks has got everyone looking for socks!

Sports Direct sell socks in 12-15 size. I buy them for my son, who has size 15 feet. They are £2.99 for either three or five pairs (can't remember which). This is in store. I haven't tried online.


It might be worth looking for socks for diabetics, as these tend not to be as tight. You could also look for honeycomb top socks. I know you can get them for women, as my mum wears them (she also has swollen feet, and the honeycomb tops are the softest and most comfortable that we have found).

Can I ask where you buy his shoes from? my son is only 14 years old with size 13 wide feet and I really struggle to find big fashion shoes? thanks

My son wears safety boots for school - his choice. He had his first pair when he was going on a Scout camp and needed steel toed boots so that he could earn his knife and axe licence. He doesn't always get steel toed boots now though, but they tend to be available in larger sizes. They are also a decent width - his feet are quite wide as well. He needs big feet to balance his predicted height of 6'8" (I wanted to put the rolling smiley here, but my smilies aren't working for osme reason!)


Usually we go to Wyndsors, although his hiking boots (for Duke of Edinburgh award) came from Sports Direct. I think his hiking boots cost about £25, and boots from Wyndsors cost between £22 and £35. He doesn't wear fashion shoes, but I have seen some styles in Wyndsors. Both shops have larger sizes in my local branch (St. Helens).


His last pair of trainers were £28 from Jacamo, but we had to get these online as the Liverpool shop doesn't have larger sizes in stock.


If it's any consolation, my son only turned 15 last weekend, but has had size 15 feet for more than a year now, so I'm hoping that they won't grow any more. He had size 11 feet in primary school, bigger than any of the male teachers. Now, the biggest size that has been admitted to in secondary school is size 13 - his class did a survey on shoe sizes last year, and nobody would believe how big his feet really are until he showed them his boots.

Wow! thank you for the information. Gosh I thought we were struggling with size 13, hats off for your son's 15 size feet! but thank you really helpful info
