Good stuff, if rather over the top in some places. I am somewhat surprised that only 31 companies have been mentioned, surely it must be more than that.

What the DM fails to acknowledge however is that it is all perfectly legal, landowners have a right to know who is parking on their land. What is needed is greater sanction against those who are using the information to extract monies to which they have no right from gullible people.

Read the comments of the great unwashed, the ignorance surrounding the DPA astounds me.b

This is indeed good publicity, although it's a regurgitated article they've published before with the figures updated a bit. Terrible pictures though of a Smart car on street (Council) and a DVLA van! Irrelevant!

    interesting to my case

the parking operator referred to in this case Observices Parking Consultancy was found guilty and fined for misleading customers by sending out debt collection letters from a company called Windsor-Smythe and Partners, without indicating that they were the same company.

This is something that SIP Parking Limited have done with letters sent out threatening legal action by a firm called Morgan Knightley and Co. They are also the same company, however nowhere on their letters do they state that they are part of the same company, and even on Morgan Knightley's website, which is an absolute joke, they say they have teamed up with SIP parking as they are honest and fair car parking operator. This is all to give the impression, and so mislead customers (sorry victims) that these are separate companies, and that the claim has been escalated to a firm with a very established name that infers a seasoned company, much like a firm of solicitors I might hasten to add.

Me thinks that this case with Observices parking consultancy might just get quoted in an evidence pack that I might be completing soon, that will be interesting.

Several PPC's have tried it in recent years. LDK did for a while with Ethical Debt Recovery but that died a death as soon as it became apparent that despite their best efforts to give the impression the DCA operated from North London the phones were answered by LDK staff in Milton Keynes.

For a debt collector to describe another business as honest and fair begs the question: Who the hell are they to judge?
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

ANPR Ltd do the same thing. It's against the UTCCRs or CPUTRs somewhere!
