New house - Meter readings...

Sorry if this has already been bought up.. but I have 2 questions

I have finally got the keys to my new house :j so I decided to stick with the current energy providers for that property (as it’smy first house I have no idea what costs etc will be) and then will evaluate and move accordingly.

I managed to get my gas reading but noticed that next to the gas meter is something called a smart meter.

My first question is what is a smart meter? It has a reading of 1122.70684 - my gas reading was 10213.

Second question is do all houses have water meters? The vendor left a note to say ‘gas, electric and water meters under the stairs’ I cannot see a water meter, could the water meter be the smart meter?

So confused :( any help would be greatly appreciated.

no water meter will be near the stopcock, looks like a round disk with black cover on
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

    You are very fortunate
Water meters are usually located outside the property - Often on the pavement
    outside the house
In the event of a leak between the meter and your house, it you as the householder who is responsible for the cost of the water lost to ground, and you are also responsible for repairing the pipe - Most water providers will fix a 1st leak for free, but after that you are on your own

With the meter inside your house it's much easier to read, and any water leak will be obvious immediately
