How to unlock WD external hard drive at startup?

I have a Western Digital external hard disk connected to my laptop by USB for backup purposes. I used to run the Western Digital backup software (on my old laptop running on XP) but can't get it to run on Windows 8.1 so just use the inbuilt File History from Microsoft to run backups.
The disk has a partition called WD Unlocker which contains a file unlock.exe which I have to run and enter a password before I can then look at the files on the partition called My Passport. File History will also not run until I have unlocked the drive.
Is there any way to get the drive to unlock on startup whilst it is connected to my laptop without having to type in the password? I know that I found a way to do this on XP but can't find out how to do it in Windows 8.1. Is it possible or am I wasting my time and will just have to resign myself to typing the password every time I start the laptop?
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
