I've finally managed to wrap the Xmas presents :j
I have also been looking at the emails I don't want anymore
I also have finally sorted out my sewing supplies definitely need to use up some supplies before getting anymore :rotfl:
the Neil boorman book has been ordered from the library sounds like a good read
I ventured to the supermarket and there was a lot of stressed people and trolleys filled to the brim I just don't get it
for anyone wanting a cheap hair cut or beauty treatment I would advise going to the local vocational college need to sort out my wardrobe and do a charity drop off soon
catch up soon
I go to a local college, I get two colours and a cut for £10 and they dont charge me extra for having long hair. I always give the girl who does my hair a tip as the money goes to the college. They do it for their portfolio so Ive always had what theyve needed done, but just more or less the same, some highlights and lowlights.
They dont open from June - October, so in the summer I use a wowcher or similar, but Id also recommend as Ive had as good a haircut and colour if not better at my local college than I have in some salons. The next cheapest in my area is 35 but even the 25 quid saving makes a big difference to me over the year.0 -

Do you have any pharmacies near you? We have a few who sell a lot of the household bits as well as toiletries.Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Yes we have one in the village where I used to work but they don't now stock anything household other than dettol. I have to go into town for things I need and although I can use the 99p shops they don't often stock the brands I know won't make us itch. I use Wilkos sometimes but only when they have my chosen brands on offer otherwise we have a tiny and very expensive Co Op in the village and an even tinier but rather cheaper One Stop but they both have very limited choice because they are so small. Looks like I'll have to use the supermarket but wear blinkers and ONLY get what is on my list!0

I'm in for the January no supermarket challenge.
It will be really interesting to try and buy nothing from a supermarket. At the end of the month I wonder what we will have learnt. What things are easy to buy local, what are impossible or unviable? What things we are more careful about using when paying a premium for then?
What will you be doing for milk?
Or things such as flour/tins?
It's going to be interesting sourcing these products!
I think I will be able to buy bread, cheese, ham, veg, fruit, eggs etc at the weekly market.
I will commit to trying my very best to staying out of a supermarket and trying to cook my own or source elsewhere.
What a challenge, I look forward to reading your ideas on how you will find the food items you need!
