My 14 year old daughter had this last week. There's not much you can do apart from be there. It lasted 24 hours. By teatime the next day she was asking for a chinese takeaway !0

Thanks all
We got through the night with a few more incidents.
DH and I are walking zombies now, but trying to plough on and get life up to date in case we come down with it in a few days.
Poor thing she has such great work ethic. She asked what time it was this morning and then went to get up to go to school.
She has been given a tv in her room for 48 hours and has been told to stay in bed and rest and sleep when she can and watch CBeebies back to back.
Fingers crossed the rest of us escape it. Pretty sad to see her go through it.0 -
We were given some good advice by an old family doctor, when our son was small. She advised us to make ice lolly's either ice cube size or bigger, to help sooth his throat and cool him down. She also told to make the same with dioralyte sachets when he had been suffering vomitting and from the "runs" to keep him hydrated.0

I always found that 'Ice Pops' - you know the long thin frozen tubes, helped get some fluids down the kids. no solids for 24 hours unless they are 'starving' and complaining loudly! yep, hotty for the tummy and fan for the rest of them!0

Flat coke is good for settling an upset tummy, and it gets a little sugar in which helps when you have been so sick. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

I know this sounds really stupid, but sometimes when your'e ill it's good to be somewhere else other than your own bed.
Sofa downstairs or spare room if you're lucky and have one.
Don't know why it makes a difference maybe it's just us !
Then when the worst of it's over going back to your own bed seems like such a treat.0
