Is it safe to use liquid disinfectant to wash the dishes?

hello all,

was in the loft today, and noticed I had alot of liquid disinfectant gathering dust.

On the back it claims to be "lavender" and it says its suitable for drains, floors, toilets and general use. It also gives directions on diluting.

with so much of it, i am considering using it (once diluted) as washing up liquid, but wanted to know if this is safe, and will it get the dishes clean?

Any ideas, warmly welcome

If it is old it may have lost some or all of it disinfectant powers.

It is probably safe to use but I doubt that it will shift grease, fat and food deposits as effectively as washing up liquid. WU liquid is cheap in Lidl, Poundland etc.

I'd bin it but up to you.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".

I certainly wouldn't use it this way.

I would imagine there is a warning on the pack, stating not to be taken internally, wash off skin, etc.

And the most disinfectants leave a coating on whatever they have been applied to, so as to give added protection against germs.

So, it's back to the Fairy, again, I reckon.

Its not safe to use as washing up liquid. It kills micro organisms and may poison you.
Use it to disinfect things such as toilets and drains. Give away as much as you are unwilling to store. Homeless shelters may appreciate it.

As long as you rinse the dishes off it'll be fine.

Might make them smell a bit odd though (lavender!?)

Don't think you will get any further suggestions than above (and selling it)
