Property damage/ neighbour dispute

  • Hi OP, how about getting an company to do a Flat Roof Electronic Leak Detection survey to work out what is causing the leak?

It would support legal proceedings if it got that far, make them repair the issue/renew the roof or show its a problem with your roof which your builder could fix.

I think this would be a good first step and I don't believe they cost much more than £100 - 200. My company uses a particular company to do these (not sure where your based) but message me for details if you want.

Thanks for this, I'd never even heard of this before so didn't consider it. I've now sourced a couple of companies which do this in my local area so will give them a call. Surely if I put it to the neighbour's daughters that this is a good way of finding the source of the water then they'll be reasonable and go with it - I'll just have to persuade them to split the cost - not an easy job!
  • By the way, thank you to everyone who's replied/contributed to this thread, I've found it very helpful and reassuring.
