Not complying with Ombusdman ruling
Surprise, surprise, Scottish Power (having agreed with the ombudsman ruling) have still (2 months later) not done as they were supposed to have done within 28 days. I have contacted the ombudsman who have not responded 2 weeks later. What do I do now? I am completely at a loss as to where to go. It's ridiculous!

I can see i am going to be in the same position as you soon.I cant see SP sorting my problems out either after the Ombudsman complaint.
I was thinking small claims court but dont know if that will work.
Someone put a few email addresses on here for SP i think i would try them first.0 -
No can do. I spoke to their "customer services" department who say they are not allowed to discuss it with me and I need to either phone the special ombudsman team who are only in the office 9-4:30 4 days a week (unlike me) or go back to the Ombudsman which I have tried to do with no response. I've emailed the Ombudsman again today and been through their website - I'll keep you posted...MSE GBBO 2015 - Go Alvin!0

Flipping waste of time the Ombudsman as i know i filled mine in right the first time i contacted them but they emailed back 2 months later saying i didnt so had to do it again. Now 3 months later after i emailed them after they say it is with SP and will take 8 weeks then they have another 6/8 weeks to sort it out ! This has been going on since Nov 2013.
I am just completely fed up with it all for a problem that was nothing to do with me as they stopped the DD in Nov 2013.I only want pay my bill and then move to another supplier .
Yes please update when u hear anything as it help me as i am sure i will have same problem and anyone else having the same problem.
Good luck.0 -
I am the same. They overbilled me for an enormously incorrect reading and raised my DD without an explanation. I immediately switched and then found out my reading was wrong. This happened in July. I have switched my gas but am not paying anyone for electricity because of the dispute. What a joke!MSE GBBO 2015 - Go Alvin!0

Same scenario here.
Either SP's systems are so screwed up or they just don't give a damn. I actually think it's a mix of both.
They already have this warning about not being able to attract new customers hanging over them from Ofgem. I imagine in comparison the Ombudsman has a relatively small team, coupled with the generally unhelpful attitude of certain energy companies, means they really are stretched.
Until OFGEM really starts to hammer them I doubt things will improve.0 -
Just had email from Ombudsman saying SP has 28 days to sort it out and the same £75 refund <not enough as this has been going on for over 1 year > I called them and asked what happens if they dont sort it out in 28 days and she said keep reminding the Ombudsman. I did say about Small Claims Court and she said i could try that.I wanted out of my contract early as well but she said thats not part of the offer but i should ask them. Think i just change tarriff with them and then go with someone else.
CSandL I know you cant call because of your work but i think calling is better than emailing them.0
