some questions about energy suppliers
I've recently come off a Southern Electricity one year fix deal and I'm looking at my options.
First question. With the recent falls in oil prices, do people think that energy costs will fall over the coming year, making a move to another one year deal a mistake? Or is that just a pipe dream?
Secondly, I've looked at one year fixed dual fuel deals from five suppliers and the two cheapest for me, a fairly low user who benefits from a low daily standing charge, are npower and first:utility, with eon then edf and finally the dearest Southern Electric following behind. The thing is that I've read some horrendous reviews of npower and first:utility which are putting me off moving. Southern Electric have been good for the many years I've been with them. The difference between the cheapest yearly cost (npower) and the dearest (Southern Elec) is £83 and the cheapest has the lowest daily standing charge and the dearest has the highest standing charge.
What to do, eh? Any views?

>> Trend has been slightly downwards in 2014 .
For me any fixed deal would depend upon the exit cost as well as the tariff .0 -

Cheers. Actually that reminds me, one of those (npower?) has no exit fee. Might be the clincher if either standard tariffs come down or the supplier gives bad service. Yes, that might be the way to go.0 -
