If you do use masking tape you could make sure it loses some of the sticky first by... brain isn't working um... sticking it down somewhere and picking it up a few times. Is there a word for that?New to this money saving lark. Any tips greatly received.

Thank you will give that a go, I think I have some masking tape (Somewhere), justwaiting for the green to arrive. May do red underneath or will that be too much?0 -
Window number 4 in my advent calendar was Essie Nail Polish in Lots of Lux.
That sounds lovely, I got a different Calendar to you, I got the Body Shop one, I know its not as good value for money, but I knew that I'd use the products in this one. So far have Hand Cream, Nail File, Mini Heart Soap and Mini Cranberry shower gel.
I also looked at the Benefit one and realised I wouldn't use most of the products in that one very glad I didn't get it as they looking on FB it seems they all got Paper Clips on day one.0 -
I joined in with this challenge for a month earlier this year, I think it may have been March, and I've been carrying on with it by myself ever since but I have missed chatting on here so I would love to join in again this month.
I usually get plenty of perfumes and toiletries for Christmas gifts, so I'm trying to make room for them, as I currently have no room for anything! I've been doing well at getting rid of shower gels and body lotions that I had way too many of, but I've been struggling to get through my perfumes.
I think this thread will help to keep me motivatedThank you to everyone who posts on here0 -

I wondered if you lovely ladies could help me. For the Christmas period I'm thinking of paainting Green triangles on my nails to represent Christmas trees. Any Idea's what I can use to make guides on my nails so they are straight and painted in the right place. Hope that makes sense.
Thank you
Sellotape. Take three pieces (if you want it in the middle - two if you're going for an edge) and tape over your nails overlapping so it leaves a triangle-shaped space. Make sure your base colour is really super duper rock hard dry before you do that otherwise you risk peeling it off and believe me there are few things more annoying.
I find masking tape not to be sticky *enough* and you can get leakage underneath it.
You can also get special nail striping tape, although it's very thin and better for painting, well, stripes than blocking off largeish areas unless you're really careful with the brush.
Edit: also, I find the technique works best if you remove the tape IMMEDIATELY after painting over it (when the polish is still wet). I've found it can stretch/crack/generally be a !!!!!! if you peel it off when tacky or dry.Aqua 0/1850 Cap.One 0/450 Vanquis 0/500 HSBC 0/100

Houston, I have a problem
When I did my first sort of toiletries I put (almost) all of my opened items on top of the vanity unit in the en-suite, with (almost) everything else in the cupboard. (There are some bits in the cloakroom, and some bits in my travel washbag).
After I found loads of bits late yesterday it became clear that system wasn't going to work. So I found a box for all my unopened stuff, with the idea I'd only leave on top of the unit the stuff I'm currently using whilst all the other opened stuff (front line spares) moved into the cupboard.
I spent a few hours today sorting through the best part of a dozen boxes and bags. I didn't find everything I know I have knocking around, but I have added another 9 items to 'in use' and 20 to 'new' - and I can no longer get all the 'new' into the box
So it looks like I need to find another box now
Amongst today's finds was another almost full cotton wool pleat, which now makes it likely I'll get through 2015 without needing to buy any cotton pads (can subsitute the cotton wool mountain I have). And I'd thought I'd need more toner, but I've discovered I have a lot of facial washes - so I'm currently using a facial wash in the morning and toner in the evening (when I always get more grime off). I now believe I have plenty of both of those to last into 2016. Day and/or night cream were other possible needs, but I've found plenty of night cream - and also general moisturisers that I'm now using in the morning if I plan to spend the bulk of the day in or around the house. If I'm going out for an extended period of time I'm using my day cream as it has sun protection in it (OK, probably don't need that just now - but it always takes me a while to get a routine up and running).Cheryl0 -
