Asda Black Friday - the chaos continues.

Just back from my local Asda store and and there was a lot of commotion going on.
It seems Asda Black Friday spilled over to Saturday with more products being added.
However, they appear to have forgtten to tell the stores, or at least my local store, that it was to definitely end CoB Saturday.
So all around the store are palletts of special offer products and massive posters which includes the cost of the items on offer (and no date restrictions)
A few items on the posters were admittedly marked as 'Sold Out'
But there was still a heck of a lot left
e.g. Skylanders Trap Team Starter pack for both Xbox and Wii
Sale price £29 (usual price £54.99)
Only problem is the tills are today charging £54.99. Customers are not happy.
So what has the manager decided to do?
Sell the stock at the advertised price? No
Remove the out of date posters? No
He's decided to get his staff to remove all the stock from the shopfloor and mark every poster as 'Sold Out'
Is he sending the unsold items back to head office? Perhaps it was special order on a sale or return basis? No
I overhead him say to one of his employees he would get the night shift to put the stock back out for tomorrow, but at the proper, normal price.

It was a limited offer. Items at that price are now not available. What's the problem?

It would because if they are sold at any price other than what comes up on the till then it would impact the stores shrinkage. At the time it was on offer there would be no shrinkage as the product is being sold at the price it had been programmed to be sold at. If the item on the stores system then goes up in price any reduction to the price the day before will effect the stores shrinkage result which would be a massive amount at £25 a time.0
