Just for when anyone's got time to read.Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

I'm glad somebody has brought this up. Soft drinks are one of my favourite bugbears, and I absolutely hate it when so many people are so misinformed that they think drinks with "no added sugar" are good for their kids
One of the things I hate the most are Fruit Shoots. You can get ones with sugar, or ones with artificial sweeteners, and 9 times out of 10, people go for the "no sugar" ones... aaarrrrggghh! Yet they market them in a way that makes most people think, "Oooh, it has the word "fruit" in it, it must be great!". Has anyone ever tasted the stuff? It is so sweet it's unbeleivable.
And yes, I agree with voting with your wallets. Also, I wrote to Robinson's to complain about Fruit Shoots, and they wrote back saying, basically, that they don't care it's unhealthy, as it's such a popular product! Well yeah, the kids are going to love them as they love sweet stuff, and obviously this particular company only cares about their profits.
Rant over.

You've got my support! I work in a school at an after school club and can very quickly tell if that days school dinner contained red food colouring by the childrens behaviour! 2 children in particular were not only very badly behaved but also looked very ill (clammy and pale). On these days we always checked the menu for that day and sure enough strawberry mousse (very pink) or cheap tomato sauce had been served. We mentioned this to the schools head who promised to look into this!
We are doing our children a great disfavour by not asking for a ban and who knows the long term effects of these additives? Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Oh lol! Sorry needmoney!

It seemed very obvious when I was writing it, but now that I've just gone back and read it again I can quite see how my comment could be ambiguous.
Yes, I was just referring to the swear bit.

The children were a bit of a handful today! Think it is the cheap tomato sauce they serve up with the school dinners! Mind you who knows how many other additives? Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Hiya catznine, nice to have comments from someone who can see the direct results of this.
I have heard parents in the past say their kids were hyper after eating certain things and in my ignorance used to think they were making it up or just being silly but I have learned a lot more since. Caffiene will keep me awake for hours, I like a bacardi and coke but don't drink it now or coffee after 6pm.Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

Hi
I have started to print up some of the articles. I am making up a file with as much info as poss. The children at our school have to have school dinners so I really think they should be as healthy as poss. As I said earlier I have already drawn attention to the issue and to be fair they are interested but I guess more information is needed if decisions to change the food are to be made. If only Jamie Oliver would visit our school;)Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
