Injury claim

In my experience, usually those who do plenty of moaning about compensation are not shy of having a bit of it when the situation befits them.0

I must be the exception then eh.
I never claimed when I fell over, neither did my parents - the complete opposite. I got laughed at by my family for being numb.
Someone bumped into my car, copious amounts of calls asking about whiplash and they would send me to their dodgy Dr and get me a few thousand, no claim made. I actually went out of my way to get the person at fault a decent quote on getting it repaired.
I have an opinion (not bullying Quentin), that opinion would not change if it were me in the same situation. Infact I think I would be sat there laughing at myself with my mates.

How much pain/discomfort etc do you think the OP is experiencing compared to your cut knee when a child?
If you want to express your opinion on ratepayers having to compensate victims of negligence by the Council, then use the discussion forum.
The OP came for advice, not to give you an opportunity for a sermon0 -

Oh hark at the pinnacle of society. The fact that my question was merely looking for help and wasn't asking for anyones opinion obviously says a lot about you. Clearly a keyboard warrior jumping from board to board trying to bully and create arguments.
Well if you like I'll PM you my address and you can pop down and see this pavement. This pavement that has at least 6 parts that are raised by more 1" and 1 particular part that is raised by 2" above the normal level. The fact I'm now pinned and plated for no fault of my own says I'm surely entitled for something as this pavement is NOT normal.
You won't be interested though, you'll be onto the next thread trying to bully others.
This forum used to be a brilliant place offering help, but now is awash with trolls spouting bulls**t. Thanks to everyone who has provided info, I really appreciate it.

4500 thanks on my stats thing suggest I do offer some help on this forum.
Having an opinion and expressing it is not bullying. Its a forum, you can ask what you like and im free to write what I like in return - if you dont like it, so be it. There are many things in life I do not like but I do not go off having a little strop over it.
You say this fall is no fault of your own but we have a difference of opinion. If you were blind, I would be supporting you fully, but if you are not then how can you not take any responsibility. You took the step that resulted in your falling nobody forced you to, if the pavement was not flat then why not go round it?I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. ACG, please shut up. You're making an idiot of yourself.0

And where have you helped here?
All you have done is repeated your "opinion" and told us you never claimed over a cut knee when you were a kid.
All totally irrelevant to the OP wanting help!
Instead of digging deeper by repeating your unpleasantness why not make an attempt at apologising to the OP who you have clearly upset.
(Your behaviour also brings disrepute to your profession you tell us about in your sig in every post you make)0 -
I have to have the signature, forum requirement.
If he/she is upset, that was not my intention but Im not apologising as I do not think I am wrong in what I have said.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Anything over 1 inch, and you have a case, I believe.
To help your case, you should report the accident to the council / local authority or the person / company responsible for maintaining the pavement, make a note of your accident in an accident book if possible, take names and addresses of witnesses to the accident and if possible take photographs of the area where the accident happened. In cases involving defective pavements, we would recommend that you take your photographs with a ruler shown in them to show how deep / high the defect was.
If you are intending to claim expenses such as prescription costs and travelling expenses, remember to keep receipts as evidence.
