Out of the blue tonight my internet stopped working on my laptop. When I tried to connect it asked for PIN off router and when I put it in it goes to a screen saying there is a problem with pc and restarts it but it still won't connect. The message is the one in the title of this thread.
Have absolutely no idea what to do. Not technically minded so any help is appreciated. Or is it a repair man job?
TIA

I just typed it into Google and it came up with this:

One of your drivers has got corrupted or more likely there's a hardware fault with the wireless card. Is the machine old?0

You need to go into Devise Manager on Laptop and see what driver has a explanation mark next to it.
You might get away with just uninstalling the bad driver and Windows might install it automatically when you start up laptop again or your have to install the driver on a usb stick from another Computer and install it on laptop.Devise Manager0 -
paddyrg - no it is not old bought it last year so just about still under guarantee? Is it something that would be under the guarantee do you think?
imho - have just looked at device manager and there is nothing with an explanation mark, but yesterday when I look on programs page there is something for REALTEK wireless LAN Driver installed - is this the problem? I tried to restore back to an earlier date but it keeps coming up saying that is not working due to antivirus?
Thanks to you both for your help.0 -
Have you got Symantec installed as that seems a problem as fifeken link says. If its telling you its yr antivirus i be tempted to uninstall antivirus and use a different one .Avast free is good.
But if your antivius is mixed in with your firewall u need to allow your wifi. But sure u must have been using your laptop with the same set up for ages.0
