Good luck stilton cheese. Brings back lots of happy memories.
This weekend I got DD to go to attic and get down all the presents I wrapped and put away last jan after the sales. Whilst there she got down the tree and put it up, as she was in the mood! We have been grottoed.
Red cabbage and apple is simmering ready for freezer. discount stew is cooked and I am waiting for DS and D in L to come for tea. So farm a NSd apart from Mr T delivery.
Feeling that I need to clean ready for XMAS
when my kids were little they always knew that xmas was around the corner when their mum started the xmas clean and the xmas ironing
Evening all,
Bit of a disappointing day yesterday & didn't feel too well either, so haven't gone mad today. Have kept the frugal faith though:
*Laundry waiting on heated airer, which will be switched on at bed time to make use of Economy 7 tariff.
*Washer also on timer for cheap wash.
*Big pork shoulder in slow cooker & smelling gorgeous. Aiming to get a good few days of meals out of that & maybe something for freezer too.
*Cleaned bathroom & kitchen using minimal products. Made up some diluted Stardrops in my spray bottle - enough left to do one more refill, & then it will be time to shell out a vast £1 for my new annual bottle of Stardrops.
*mr f collected another bucket of windfall apples while I turned one of the older apple buckets into apple sauce, some of which I'll freeze.
*Finished writing Christmas cards. By my rough calculation, I'll save around £7 by having cards ready to give to people who can distribute them for me to other people......have already noticed friends & family doing this more this year, so I think 2nd class postage hitting 63p has made lots of us think twice about simply posting everything. I still think it's an amazing thing that I can write a long letter, pay 63p to shove it in a red box & it can be arriving in London the next morning with all my news & gossip, but having lots of cards all at once does work out expensive. Liberated 3 totally unfranked stamps to help with some of them. Amazes me that we can transplant a heart into another human body, put a person on the moon, yet since the postal service started in about 1830, no-one has come up with a machine capable of franking every letter in the correct place!
*Did a few surveys.
*Going to read library book now, so free leisure too.
Hope everyone is having a relaxing evening so as to be nicely chilled for starting the new week.

Hi All
A mixed bag of a day to report. Decided to have a day out first in about 6 months. Hired a car as cheaply as possible. Packed a picnic. Paid for entry using tesco vouchers. Stuck to minimal spending all day.
Got back to car feeling really happy and relaxed. Find that some kind soul has driven into the front wing of our car and dented it quite badly & knocked out the wing panel next to the light.
Apparently the park don't have cctv but it looked as though the car next to us was damaged to so that may help confirm a timeline for the insurers. Don't yet know how much they will try and charge us for that.
Hey Ho. ..
