Santander credit card bill warning!!!

Be aware, I have just received my 123 credit card bill and it states I have failed to make minimum payment, could not understand this as D/D is set up on this account. Santander say it is due to computer error due to my account receiving a refund during billing period, was told many customers have contacted them, Santander still sorting out the problem. Was told this would not show up as a missed payment re: credit file. Should I trust them???

no, of course not; check your credit files in a months or so.

I have a Santander credit card with 18 months interest free period of which I'm using to its full potential with the 'spent' money sitting securing in savings ready to pay off 'in full'.
I've noticed and questioned this on two or three occasions when I've had refunds back to the card and the next minimum direct debit payment hasn't then been collected... It has had no effects on my interest free period at all which is still running along nicely as their system is happy that it's had an incoming payment. No bad marks recorded on credit scores anywhere either and I have checked. I'm happier as it means a little bit more money stays with me a little longer until the end of the interest free period when they will get Every penny back in one large payment, I will then close the account and start again in six months time.

I have never had need to check my credit files could you tell me how I go about doing it and will it cost me as I am non to pleased as ringing 0845 to sort this out with Santander has cost me as it is

Exactly the same happened to me. I phoned and complained and was credited £50 for what was an automatically, but incorrectly generated letter.

Noddle shows ALL my Santander accounts (cc's and bank accounts details ) for no fee, you just need to register with one of your cards ( no fees are taken from it )
good for a free service, just disregard their scoring.
shows nearly all my closed/settled accounts also which are many !

If you bank online you can run your own checks on all and any accounts.


This means you can also see if any payments have not gone through whenever you want
