Back to basics im afraid, am after a new PC for home use thats fast and can run several internet pages at once, ideally would like a small base unit/tower so to save on desk space, but not scrimp on performance/usb ports etc.
I wont be running games/CAD packages or anything fancy, just internet (for work/hobby) excel and word etc.
What should i be looking for please, and wheres best to buy from??

I went to a local guy and got one built to my own specs, nothing extra on it that I won't need and plenty of scope for upgrades in the future.0

Thanks people, what do i need to look for to run several internet pages and excel and word at once, is it the RAM? And im confused about i3, i5 and i7 and the numbers that follow them0

I got 4GB ram with mine and I've no problem running multiple programmes.0

Plenty of ram but the main requirement is your internet connection not the PC .0

I'll be using WiFi, i live in a rural area and ben told max will be 7Mb/s, is that good?
And would it make much difference if i hard wired in a connection to my pc (upstairs and along the landing) from my router in the lounge?0 -
You wont know what your WiFi speed is until you measure it in place .0
