Hi all,
Over the past 3 years I've tried just about everything to make a bit of extra money, just enough to keep the wolf (and the bailiffs) from the door.
18 months ago I decided to take a chance and started writing fiction. I never expected it to do much but then I was only trying to make what I would earn as a part time wage, that was my only aim.
My life now just 18 short months later is unrecognisable because I took a leap of faith.
Here I am in my local paper today http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/leisure/sevendays/features/11624545._18_months_ago_I_was_struggling_on_benefits___now_I_ve_written_five_crime_novels_under_the_name_A_J_Carella_/?ref=mac
For those out there looking for ways to make a bit of money on the side I would offer this. Think outside the box. Yes, you can make a few pennies filling out surveys for hours on end etc or you can do something that makes you happy and, in the long term, will pay you what your time deserves. Stick at it, don't give up, you never know where it may take you.
:p

Congratulations. :T
I've always wanted to write books.
Plots are my weak point, I get very caught up in characters and forget that they have to actually do something.0 -

Well done, Kerry! Thank you for sharing your success story with us. I hope this is just the start of lots of good things for you :T
I suspect a lot of people are like me, procrastinators to a fault:o, filling our time just scratching the money-making surface with tedious and low-paying surveys and such like. You've proved how daring to 'go for it' really can make a difference and I'm sure have now inspired many of us to do the same:beer:.0 -

Congratulations. I want to write a story, or some stories sometimes. Basically a front for my ideologies
but I think I lack the grammar skills. 'That' v 'which' and all that stuff. How important is that these days? Seems everyone is writing an ebook now.
