Is yours the 13.3 inch screen?
Here is one for £43:

...and this is how you replace it:

(I have no connection with the item offered or its seller)
Thats for a unibody which hasn't been produced for years. As the Op's macbook is 2012 it'll most probably be the retina display which also has some complaints the same as the OP (i.e. ghosting).
These are roughly £300 for the part itself then the cost of fitting.0 -
Your option is to get an independent report showing it was inherently faulty, then take the retailer (not apple) to court for the costs of a repair.
I have no idea of the shelf life of these things, but when i worked as a design engineer, our machines were replaced every four years, used daily for at least eight hours.
(They were then used for admin as they worked fine, just not fast enough for software updates).Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Take the seller to court using what legislation to back their case up?
This was a B2B transaction hence the OP doesn't have any SOGA consumer rights.0 -
I have asked the reseller to quote me for the repair, it is a retina screen so I am expecting it to be expensive.0

I'd get other quotes as well. I admit I'm not au fait with B2B transactions, but I'd still shop around, make sure the reseller is not ripping you off. Whilst you may not have SOGA consumer rights, you still do of course have rights if you have been sold faulty goods. Though I fear the length of time may not help you. After 2 years, you may just need to find the best quote you can.One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0
