The lady to whom you are casually referring to as a "problem" was a woman who had a life, and friends and was a real person.
You may have had your issues with her, but what an appalling way to refer to someone's death.
I find your post utterly disrespectful.

Dont worry about it. You didnt know her or care about her niether did the OP. And it was factually correct.

Nope, didn't know nor care about her, but it is a little thing called respect.
  • Poor old lady, it sounds so sad to know someone was in distress and obviously disorientated, people forget how hard it can be to be alone.

I hope her house will soon welcome a new big family, so the current neighbours can enjoy what is "just normal noise and people getting on with their life" and how pleasant it is when it is somebody else noise.
  • Poor son. Sounds like he knew something was up but didn't have time to do anything about it. Quite obviously the LL wouldn't have.

Actually quite upset reading some comments.

I always wonder how many people who nurse people in Care Homes see that once the residents worked, had families, lives, so much history but once you're in a care home, you're just a 'thing'. And if you happen to have dementia.., even more so.

I'm not nasty enough to wish Karma on the OP.

Well that will be up to me as I've decided to buy it. I spoke to her son earlier today who told me the news and he is the sole heir to her estate.

He also told me some rather unpleasant things about this lady so spare the pity, she doesn't deserve any. Hopefully he can get the closure he needs in his life now.
  • Poor old love, it's rubbish getting old. Aside from anyone's opinion or comments I just wanted to add a useful tip in the event of noisy neighbours. A friend of mine is a guitarist, so is his neighbour. They don't get on. They both like to practise in their houses, so my friend insulated his side of the party wall with battens and Kingspan then had it replastered. Problem solved, no more noise. I don't know if there's anything one can do for a flat below/above , maybe insulate the ceiling?? I live in a flat and am acutely aware of how my actions will affect those below, my neighbour used to play music excessively till I asked him to turn it down once, now I just expect I will hear a little noise and it's acceptable.

Now if I can just persuade his new girlfriend to stop blooming singing and humming all day whenever she's there! :wall:

We don't know the woman, she could've been a complete so and so.
