Can anyone help please with my Hudl 1 not being able to download a Google Play App ?

Hi all,
I have a Hudl V1 model.
Via my Amazon account, which I access via my yahoo email account username and Amazon password, I have bought a Google play application. Unfortunately I cannot download this app onto my Hudl. I have google'd and have been told something like 'Google Play>Manage Apps>Apps Cloud>Refresh' to see the apps to download. To be honest, I don't really understand how to use App could or refresh.
For info, I receive the Daily Telegraph each day onto my Hudl via my Amazon account so I believe that I have configured my Hudl correctly on my Amazon account.
Can please help and advise me what to do ?
