I wanted to know for the current account opening if you can send in certified copies of passport, if this is acceptable using post office service, I have found to be the cheapest?

The Effects2. You’ll need to provide an acceptable form of identification, either:
a. Original passport
b. Original photocard driving licence
Or a copy of either of the above documents certified as a true copy of the original by your current bankers, a solicitor or accountant.Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??
