Widescreen PC monitors

Hi

I'm purchasing a new PC via an online company who custom-build them for you. However the only monitors they offer are widescreen.

As I don't play games or watch movies on my PC, is there any point in having a widescreen monitor?

Thanks.

Nice if you are doing spreadsheets or watching DVDs, my laptop is widescreen certainly more info visible although not all sites are geared to the format.
